Spring Valley and the Southwest, Close to Home

Spring Valley sits west of the Strip, between Sahara Avenue and the 215. The Lakes, Chinatown along Spring Mountain Road, and the neighborhoods off Rainbow and Durango all fall inside. South and west of Spring Valley, the valley keeps growing through Enterprise, Rhodes Ranch, Mountain's Edge, and Southern Highlands, with the Spring Mountains and Red Rock on the western edge.

Much of the valley's inpatient psychiatric care sits here. Spring Mountain Treatment Center, Montevista Hospital, and the psychiatric unit at Southern Hills Hospital all serve this side of town.

This guide lists places open to anyone in the southwest valley. We leave out private practices. Nobody pays to appear on this page.

Therapy, Psychiatry, or Psychological Testing: Which Fits You?

Therapy and Counseling

Talk sessions with a licensed therapist, such as an LCPC, LMFT, LCSW, or psychologist. Therapy helps with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, OCD, and relationship stress. Most people in southwest Las Vegas meet with a therapist once a week, in person or by Nevada telehealth.

Psychiatry and Medication Management

A psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner diagnoses mental health conditions and prescribes medication. Follow-up visits check how your medication works and adjust the dose. Psychiatric providers also oversee treatments such as Spravato for depression when two or more antidepressants haven't helped.

Psychological Evaluations and Testing

A psychologist uses interviews and standardized tests to answer a specific question, such as ADHD, autism, a learning difference, or a diagnosis nobody has pinned down. You leave with a written report and treatment recommendations.

Not sure where to start? Start with a therapist. A good therapist tells you when a psychiatry visit or testing makes sense.
